SADIE THOMPSON
I am an artist based currently in the Toowoomba, Australia. I am originally from Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas.
Though I have been drawing since before I could talk, I began my career
in photorealism at 12 years old. I began taking lessons and entered
my first art show with ArtLoveMagic that summer. Since then my
passion has grown exponentially.
I draw mainly portraits. People and faces endlessly fascinate me.
I love stories; both hearing and telling them. Most of my pieces have a
story behind them which I can tell you. If I meet you at an event,
go ahead and ask me and I will tell you the story of the
beautiful person in the drawing.
Photorealism is the art of recreation. I make the drawing look as
exactly as the photo as I can. I do commissions and orders, of which
I draw precisely as I see it. For this reason, I love to partner with
photographers who are just as passionate about telling stories.
I have been a part of multiple organizations and galleries.
ArtLoveMagic was a huge player in the beginning of my career
and still is today. I have held booths at Fort Worth Main St. Arts Festival
for 4 years. Click here to find out more.
In 2015, I gave a TEDx talk as a fine artist on the importance of
pursuing your passions now, rather than later. You can watch it here.
As of June 2018, I am living in Queensland, Australia staffing with YWAM, a Christian ministry organization. All of the funds provided through commissions and orders go towards funding my work on this base as a missionary. You can read more about what I'm doing here.
